Town (weather permitting) at lunchtimes and occasionally at weekends. This is where the band gets its unusual name from. The band plays Dixieland jazz and popular tunes from the twenties and thirties with its own inimitable style.
The bands regular members make up a six piece band comprising of Clarinet, cornet, Saxophone, Base clarinet, Banjo ukulele and washboard. There are a number of other players who occasionally play with The Bridge Street Stompers from time to time and swell their ranks.
Most of the members of the band also play other instruments and this means that they can be very versatile. They can form up into a smaller group for small venues or if some members are not available. They can be available as anything from a three piece to a ten piece band.
